I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, and as a kid growing up the Chicago skyline was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen (and still ranks pretty high up). In particular, the Sears Tower, John Hancock building, and the Smurfit Stone building were the most notable. In fact, it felt like those three buildings were the entire skyline. In this piece, I tried to convey the feeling of those buildings in the way I thought of them as a kid. Digital illustration drawn in Adobe Photoshop
